When the MCU debuted, the endgame was virtually unseen. Audiences had seen heavy hitters like Abomination or the corporate greed of Obadiah Stane, but neither rivaled the angry villain ofThor’s Loki. The beginning of the MCU showed two types of villains: the ones who wanted power and those who had power but misused it. Loki was the first villain to merge the two. He was a Prince of Asgard stolen from the Frost Giants by Odin and, upon discovering this, went to war with his adopted father and brother. Loki’s tragic story captured audiences' hearts, but Tom Hiddleston stole the show.
During interviews, the actor would poetically describe Loki as a tragic anti-hero, a character with a deep longing to be loved and seen. Fans weren’t just pining after a victorious Loki in the MCU, but they wanted a solo film for him. Their prayers were answered with the MCU’s new directions of Disney+ series’ dedicated to specific characters. AfterAvengers: Endgame, fans wondered where Loki had escaped with the Tesseract, which is where the seriesLokipicks up. With Thanos gone,Lokiintroduced us to other variants, some played by Hiddleston and another portrayed by Sophia Di Martino, as well as He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the MCU’s next big boss.

Tom Hiddleston as Loki
The God is Mischief and King of Asgard, albeit disguised as Odin, was the first anti-hero to have his own series.Tom Hiddlestonwill reprise his role as the Loki variant from 2012. During Season 1, he learned he was supposed to die at the hand of Thanos after Asgard was destroyed. He met and became close friends with Sylvie, a woman Loki, who took him on a journey to overthrow the TVA. When Season 1 ended, Loki returned to the TVA to discover he had fallen back in time and begun time slipping between various points in time, which is not possible in the TVA.

Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius
Agent Mobius of the TVA is in charge of interrogating variants. He is dedicated to the TVA and their mission to maintain the timeline. Mobius (Owen Wilson) is the agent who oversees the Loki variants and shows them their intended future. Yet 2012 Loki, having escaped his fated timeline, is overcome by the arrogance of youth and doesn’t see the problem with his timeline. Mobius, despite Loki’s arrogance, begins to trust him and eventually helps Loki and Sylvie to escape. Because of the timeline split, when Loki finds Mobius, he doesn’t remember Loki and thinks he’s another TVA agent.
Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie
Sylvie, a woman Loki variant, has been a prisoner of the TVA since she was a little girl. She is one of the TVA’s first variants arrested, which is the reason she desires to overthrow the agency. Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) agrees to take Loki on her journey to reach He Who Remains despite her mistrust of everyone, especially a Loki variant. During their journey to the end of time, she falls in love with Loki. Upon reaching the end of time, she is faced with killing He Who Remains or letting him live. As soon as she completed her mission, she travels to a branching timeline to a McDonalds, where it looks like she wants to start her own life.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Ravonna Renslayer
The Time Variance Authority is an organization that protects the Sacred Timeline. When a variant is brought in, it must be judged and pruned, which is the sentencing of variants to the void. One of the judges and main authorities for the TVA is Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw). She prunes Loki and Mobius for attempting to take down the TVA. In an interview withGQ, Mbatha-Raw revealed that she tied an essential oil fragrance to the character who, like many of theLokiseries characters, is ambiguous with their intentions. Season two will explore her relationship with Kang variant Victor Timely as they worked together to create the TVA.
Loki Season 2 Star Drops Hints About Ravonna’s Post-TVA Story
Gugu Mbatha-Raw has revealed that her character Ravonna Renslayer will finally get out of the TVA in Loki season 2.
Eugene Cordero as Casey
Loki was captured by the TVA for stealing the Tesseract, which holds one of the infinity stones. The TVA hunter who arrested Loki gave the Tesseract to an evidence collection agent named Casey (Eugene Cordero). While Casey is unaware of the Tesseract’s significance, Loki attempts to steal it back. Once the timeline is disrupted, Casey is revealed to be a hunter with the TVA. According toGames Rader, Cordero’s Casey has been promoted to a series regular for Season 2. From the trailer, it seems at some point, Casey is going to have a much more important role
Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15
After Loki did escape with the Tesseract, it was Hunter B-15 who captured him and brought him to the TVA. As a high-level and high-ranking soldier in the TVA, B-15’s life was devoted to the organization against her will. It wasn’t until she teamed up with Loki that she learned the truth of what the TVA truly was. Sylvie enchanted B-15 to unlock her memories and show her the life that the TVA stole from her.
It was here that B-15 turned her back on the organization to join Sylvie and Loki’s cause to restore free will and expose the truth to all the agents. In the season 2 premiere, Hunter B-15 argues to the judges' council in favor of no longer pruning branches of the timeline, to which they eventually agree. Hunter B-15 might now be a major ally of Loki moving forward.
Tara Strong as Miss Minutes
The Disney+ MCU series have had wild storylines, butLokiis the only one to mix animation and live-action. Miss Minutes (Tara Strong) is a retro-style animated clock that was created by He Who Remains. Since she was created to serve He Who Remains, anyone seeking information may or may not be accurate since He Who Remains wants to be kept a secret. Strong is returning as Miss Minutes for season 2, and from the looks of the trailer, the series is going to uncover Miss Minutes' creation and the secrets she holds.
Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains / Kang / Victor Timely
The final boss of theLokiseries is He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), alsoknown as Kang. He reveals to Loki and Sylvie that he created the TVA to keep the timeline safe from variants killing each other. Since the season finale, Kang has become the main antagonist in the MCU along with Val, the head of the CIA. Kang was the main antagonist inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,where it’s revealed that a Council of Kangs exists and could possibly show up in season 2 ofLoki.
Was The MCU Heading Towards a Loki vs. Kang Showdown?
It appeared that the MCU was initially moving to pitting Loki and Kang against one another, yet season 2 of Loki might have changed everything.
Despite He Who Remains' death at the end of the first season, Majors returns in season two as the Victor Timely variant from the post-credit scene ofAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaas the man who started the TVA in the first place.
Ke Huy Quan as Ouroboros (OB)
Three new characters are being introduced in Season 2, with more information about their roles slowly being discovered as the show air.Ke Huy Quanis portraying Ouroboros, also known as OB, one of the new and most important characters in the series. Best known for his role inEverything Everywhere All at Oncelast year. Kevin Feige saw that performance and directly reached out to Quan to directly invite him to join the MCU.
OB is the main tech and repair guy at the TVA, and is responsible for designing all of the technology there. He is the sole person working in the repairs department, and doesn’t get too many visitors down there. When Loki is uncontrollably time slipping, Mobius brings him to OB for help to stop him from randomly jumping through time.
Kate Dickie as General Dox
Another new character being introduced in Season 2 will be portrayed byKate Dickie. Dickie is best known for her roles inGame of ThronesandTinseltown. Very little is known about the character she’s playing other than that she is a villain in the series. After Judge Ravonna Renslayer went missing to discover her past, a new council of judges was formed in her absence. At the head of that table was General Dox, who is determined to get to the bottom of what happened to cause the Sacred Timeline to branch. She orders all the TVA hunters to go after Sylvie to get answers about what happened at the Citadel at the end of time.
