AMC has shared the first full-length trailer for its upcomingBob Odenkirk-led seriesLucky Hank. The eight-episode series will follow William Henry Devereaux Jr. (Odenkirk), the chairman of the English department at Pennsylvania’s Railton College. But, as the trailer shows, Devereaux may not be the best fit for the position.

As Devereaux goes through a midlife crisis, he struggles in both the personal and professional aspects of his life. A self-described “difficult man,” he navigates the educational system without mincing words; at home, tension with his wife leads to an uncomfortable dinner party. Then, at a comical point in the trailer, we see the spiraling Devereaux attempt to engage in a physical altercation with a goose.

Lucky Hank

The actor’s relationship with AMC started in 2008 when he began portraying attorney Saul Goodman onBreaking Bad. He then starred in the series spinoffBetter Call Saul, receiving five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series through its trajectory. The series concluded in Aug. 2022, but less than a year later, Odenkirk is back with the network.

In an interview withEWlast summer, Odenkirk discussed the new series and his character:

“I love the tone. It’s more comic. I feel like I relate to the main character, who’s a misanthrope. He’s a cranky guy, but you like him. And I just think tonally it’s great. It feels like a new mashup of comedy and drama that we’ve been on the verge of for a long time,” he said.
