Young SheldonstarRaegan Revordhas revealed the reason why she won’t be reprising her role as Missy Cooper in the upcomingGeorgie and Mandy spin-off sequel. AsYoung Sheldonprepares to take a bow, the universe ofThe Big Bang Theoryis continuing to expand with its next story, but as previously hinted by Revord, it seems that the core cast of the new show will not feature at least one prominent member of the Cooper family.

The announcement of Missy’s absence in the Georgie and Mandy series is significant considering her central appearance as a character in both previous series. As one of the Cooper siblings, it was almost a given that she would be returning, especially whenThe Big Bang Theorymade it clear that Geordie and Missy were in constant contact during her teenage years. Responding toa post by Georgie actor Montana Jordan, Revord wished him well with the new series, but made it clear that she would not be part of the next phase of the story. When asked why she would not be back, the actress simply said:
Wasn’t invited. I’ll be cheering for Montana though!
How Will Missy’s Absence Be Explained?
While some people don’t mind about the continuity of interconnected series, there are plenty who will point out the slightest deviation from a timeline or preset canon. How the writers deal with Missy’s absence is something that we don’t yet know, but there could be many ways around her not being involved in the show, especially if it plays out over a relatively short time period. Whether the explanation is enough for those fans who know every single moment of these characters’ lives, we can only wait and see. Of course, if the Georgie and Mandy series becomes as popular as its predecessors, there is every chance that Revord could guest star in a future season.
