Square Enix will finally officially unveil theirAvengersgame at E3. The game is reportedly titledMarvel’s Avengersand fans have been waiting years to see what the company has been working on. Now, Marvel fans will get their first look during the Square Enix live event on June 10th.
Information aboutMarvel’s Avengersnewvideo gamewill be announced June 10th at 6 PM Pacific Time, which is only a few weeks away. While it’s nice to finally know when we’re going to get some official news about the long-awaited game, it is still very much shrouded in mystery. A teaser trailer was released two years ago and hinted that theAvengersneeded to “reassemble” after showing iconic Marvel imagery, including Captain America’s shield, Mjolnir, and Iron Man’s glove. Square Enix previously had this to say about the mystery project.
“TheAvengersproject is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come.”
The ambitiousMarvel’s Avengers video gameproject is expected to be huge and the announcement comes at the perfect time.Avengers: Endgameis now the second highest grossing movie of all time with its sights set on taking down James Cameron’sAvataras the highest grossing movie of all time. Anything involving theAvengersis going to be red hot, especially a huge video game that may end up playing off of the last few Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
It is entirely possible that theAvengerswill have to reassemble to save the universe from Thanos after losing the first time. That is pure speculation at this time, but it would make sense. As to how a game will be able to tackle something so massive, that is a whole other question. With that being said, Square Enix has partnered with Crystal Dynamics and Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal, which means there are some pretty heavy hitters working behind-the-scenes to tackle the ambitious project.
Whatever the case may be, all eyes are now onSquare Enixto deliver the goods at E3 in a few weeks. This is a huge announcement for gamers who have been waiting years to finally get some kind of official announcement. Perhaps some gameplay, storyline, and release date information will be announced.
