The new trailer for Marvel’s anxiously awaitedThe Defendersis finally here, courtesy of Netflix and theSan Diego Comic-Con. The first trailer for limited series debuted earlier this year and the response was unanimously positive except for one sticking point: It left the viewers wanting more and they wanted it quick. Which was a problem since the show doesn’t premiere until the middle of August. And now we seem to be in the same predicament, there’s a new awesome trailer and the show doesn’t hit Netflix until next month.

The Defendersminiseries bringsMatt Murdock/Daredevil played by Charlie Cox, Jessica Jones played by Krysten Ritter, Luke Cage played by Mike Colter, and Danny Rand/Iron Fist played by Finn Jones, who all come from their individual shows, together for the first time. Development started back in late 2013 and the hype for the show, which resides within the MCU is off the charts. The new trailer shows the team starting to get used to working together after working by themselves for so long and it appears as if there’s going to be a learning curve to get everybody on the same page to save New York City. The fourDefendersall initially met at the offices of Midland Circle, which was previously mentioned in the second season ofDaredevilandIron Fist.

The Defenders

At the end of 2014, Charlie Cox was cast asDaredeviland then Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter followed, also in 2014 cast asJessica JonesandLuke Cage, respectively. Finn Jones signed on asIron Fistin early 2016. It was also in 2016 when Marvel announced that all 4 actors would reprise their roles inThe Defenders.The Defendersis the final miniseries of the ordered Netflix series afterDaredevil,Jessica Jones,Luke Cage, andIron Fistand is based off of theMarvelComics team of the same name.

In addition to the aforementioned cast,Sigourney Weaveris cast as Alexandria, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Mist Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Hanson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, and Marko Zaror as Shaft. Stan Lee is also set to make a cameo as NYPD Captain Forbush, as he has in previous Netflix Marvel series. You can expect a lot more surprises when the show hits Netflix, which may or may not include a certain person by the name of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.

The Defenderswill be available to stream or binge in its entirety on August 18th. 2017 at 12:01 AM, so you have been warned.
