We recently spoke with actorsLuke WilsonandPoppy Liuin separate interviews to learn more about ahighly anticipated new series coming to Netflix. They’re both starring inNo Good Deed, which also features Ray Romano, Lisa Kudrow, Linda Cardellini, and Denis Leary. Most details are under wraps about the series — which is billed as telling “the story of three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems” — but Wilson was able to tease what’s to come while he was promotinghis latest film,Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1, Kevin Costner’s Western passion project that’s now in theaters.
“It was really fun to work on this,” said Wilson regardingNo Good Deed. “Liz Feldman had created the show, and she’d doneDead to Me… It’ll be coming out on Netflix. It’s kind of a dark comedy that I hope you guys will watch. But yeah, Poppy was great. I didn’t really get the chance to work alongside her. I mean, we were kind of in these big scenes where she was doing stuff… It should be a really funny show.It’s kind of a different kind of humor. I think people really get a kick out of it.”

No Good Deed Will Be ‘A Page-Turner of a Series’
No Good Deed
No Good Deed is a dark comedy series created by Liz Feldman for Netflix and stars Ray Romano as Paul Morgan in the lead role. Out of money and at the end of his rope, Paul considers selling his beautiful villa so he can pay his debts off and leave Los Angeles, but as he and two other families soon discover, the past is difficult to outrun.
Liu was able to express a similar energy about their series duringthe junket forSpace Cadet, her latest comedy film that just dropped on Prime Video this week (it also stars Emma Roberts and Tom Hopper). “We just wrapped in May,” she said aboutNo Good Deed. “[Liz] is a powerhouse and incredible.I mean, the cast is kind of, like, unreal. It’s led by Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow, who are also the nicest people.” She added:
“Lisa and I had a couple of days on set together, and it’s like, there are few moments that I’ve really gotten starstruck meeting someone… I think the first time I met [Kudrow], I was like, I didn’t know what to say.I was just like, ‘Hi, I just want to say, thank you!’ or something crazy. And she was like, ‘You’re welcome?‘But she’s just like the nicest person.”

Liu continued regarding some plot details surroundingNo Good Deed: “Me and Abbi Jacobson play wives, which is funny, because then we were cast again in like a live reading ofWayne’s Worldthat Zoe Lister Jones did… so we were joking that we both have in our contracts now, if we’re ever to have a love interest, it can only be the other person.”
But yeah, I’m really excited for [No Good Deed] to come out. I think it’s gonna be a page-turner of a series, which is like a lot of, I think, Liz Feldman’s work.
