The webtoon debuted in 2016 and continued until 2019, but it took some time to reach readers, and now we’re getting a live-action adaptation. Netflix recently released the official teaser forBlack Knight, and here is our interpretation of the narrative based on it. The plot takes place in the year 2071, when air pollution has almost brought the world to its downfall, and only 1% of the population has survived the calamity. With the new world, new rules have taken over, and strict social class exists. People seldom go outdoors because of air pollution, which might kill them if exposed to it, and the only thing they can rely on is gas masks.

We follow him on his journey to the settlements, confronting criminal lords who intend to steal the respirators.

Kim Woo Bin stars as Knight 5-8, a deliveryman proficient in battle and self-defense. The actor made his professional debut as a supporting character in the 2011 dramaVampire Idoland subsequently starred in other popular dramas such asA Gentleman’s DignityandTo the Beautiful Youbefore landing his breakthrough role inSchool 2013. Kang Yo Seok plays Sa Wol, a refugee who aspires to be a delivery knight like Knight 5-8.
