NetflixTUDUM has revealed a new look at the upcoming third and final season of the streamer’s monumental hit series,Squid Game.Squid GameSeason 3 promises to pick up where the somewhat divisive Season 2 left off, bringing the story of intrepid Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae) to what is sure to be a brutal conclusion.

Squid Gamecenters on a contest in which 456 players, drawn from different walks of life but each deeply in debt, play a set of children’s games with deadly consequences in the hopes of winning a 45.6 billion Won prize. Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show was met with praise from both critics and audiences alike and went on to receive several award nominations, including 14 nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards, with Lee Jung-jae winning for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

After ‘Squid Game’ Season 2’s major cliffhanger the rumor mill is churning out dark ideas about what might happen next.

Picking up three years after Season 1, Player 456, and winner of the games, abandons his plan to go to the United States and instead once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death battle with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won. While not as well-received critically as the first offering,Squid GameSeason 2has been a huge hit for Netflix, racking up 68 million views in its premiere week and leaving previous record holder Wednesday’s 50.1 million views in the dust.

‘Squid Game’ Will Come to an End With Season 3

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk returns as director, writer, and producer forSquid GameSeason 3.
