In just five short days, 20th Century Fox will bring its latestX-Mentrilogy to a close withX-Men: Apocalypse, which is set in the year 1983. We reported yesterday that this superhero adventure is already off to a good start at theinternational box office, taking in $103.3 million in its debut in several foreign territories, ahead of the May 27 domestic release. Today we have six new TV spots with new footage from this adventure, including one scene that apparently isn’t in the theatrical release.
One of these spots, which debuted on the20th Century Fox YouTubepage, features a scene whereNightcrawler(Kodi Smit-McPhee) is visiting the mall with Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Jubilee (Lana Condor), where he first learns what a “brain freeze” is. According to some who have already seen the movie, this mall scene doesn’t appear in the finished theatrical cut. These videos also feature plenty of quotes from the nation’s critics, offering praise forX-Men: Apocalypse, along with new glimpses at Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Professor X (James McAvoy) and the villainous Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac). We also get to see a scene where Quicksilver admits that Magneto is his father, news which comes as quite a shock to Mystique.
