We recently spoke with actorsLuke WilsonandPoppy Liuin separate interviews to learn more about ahighly anticipated new series coming to Netflix. They’re both starring inNo Good Deed, which also features Ray Romano, Lisa Kudrow, Linda Cardellini, and Denis Leary. Most details are under wraps about the series — which is billed as telling “the story of three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems” — but Wilson was able to tease what’s to come while he was promotinghis latest film,Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1, Kevin Costner’s Western passion project that’s now in theaters....

Earth sucks, and so does God inExploding Kittens,the entertainingnew animated Netflix seriesfrom creators Shane Kosakowski (You’re the Worst) and Matthew Inman. Inman, in fact, is the sharp cartoonist/card game inventor who co-created the Exploding Kittens card game and went on to birth a behemoth game empire. (See explodingkittens.com.) The immensely popular card game on which this is based was clever and spunky. Players were promptly eliminated when drawing an Exploding Kitten from the card deck and could not “defuse it" using a Defuse card....

Warner Bros. pokes fun at their own blockbusterBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicein the fourth trailer for their highly-anticipatedLEGO Movie spin-off,The LEGO Batman Movie. This trailer includes a new scene where The Joker (Zach Galifianakis) dares Batman (Will Arnett) to come and catch his greatest enemies, but the villain becomes quite confused when Batman claims that his greatest enemy is Superman. It is no secret that Disney has a very stringent view on nudity and bad language in their Disney+ output even more so than their movies, perhaps too stringent in some cases with social media picking up on the pixelation of cleavage and bare bottoms in certain shows and movies. But when it came to toning down the swearing in his new documentary,The Beatles: Get Back, Peter Jackson refused to follow Disney’s request to remove all bad language at the insistence of the band’s remaining members and the family of George Harrison....

Disney’s plannedPirates of the Caribbeanreboot has waded into troubled waters.Deadpoolwriting duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had been tapped by the studio to breathe some new life into the multi-billion dollar behemoth franchise after its fifth entry was released in 2017. It’s not terribly clear at the present time how far the project got under their watch. Either way, their time with it has come and gone and that may have put the project in danger moving forward....

The wait forSherlock Holmes 3just got a whole lot longer. After years of waiting, Warner Bros. finally got serious and set a release date for the long-awaited sequel last May, planting a flag for July 14, 2025, setting the third entry in the franchise up as their big Christmas release for next year. Unfortunately, for reasons that currently aren’t known, they’ve delayed the movie an entire year and it will now be part of our holiday season in 2021....

The stars of Greta Gerwig’s upcomingBarbieflick continue to heap praise on the soon-to-be blockbuster. The latest isSimu Liu, who plays another version of Ryan Gosling’s Ken, recently gushing toVanity Fairover director Gerwig’s commitment to a diverse cast. Teasing some “big intricate dance sequences” interwoven throughout the little-known plot, Liu says that the beauty of it all is more than skin-deep. “I remember very clearly about some of our big intricate dance sequences....

The ’90s reality dating show Singled Out has been resurrected courtesy of Quibi, and a new trailer gives us our first good look at the series revival. Originally hosted byTalking Deadhost Chris Hardwick andThe Masked Singerjudge Jenny McCarthy, theSingled Outrelaunch is now hosted by Keke Palmer and Joel Kim Booster. With MTV producing, the series will premiere on Quibi when the new streaming services launches on April 6, and you can watch the official trailer below....

The last two weekends helped prove that putting too many new releases in theaters at the same time is not good for business overall.The Martianended up winning both weekends, with all nine new titles severely under-performing in their opening frames, some of which even failed to crack the top 10. This weekend brought only two new releases to thebox office,SpectreandThe Peanuts Movie, both of which helped stop the recent slump.Spectrecame out on top with $73 million this weekend, withThe Peanuts Moviecoming in second place with $45 million, according to the estimates fromBox Office Mojo....

Fans went crazy when Marvel Studios announced thatWillem Dafoewould be one of the returning villains that would be featured inSpider-Man: No Way Home. But they would have gone even crazier if he had worn one of the suits it was design of the character before the release of the movie.
