Back in February, it was confirmed that 20th Century Fox is moving forward withAlien 5, which hasNeill Blomkampset to direct andRidley Scottproducing. Unfortunately, we reported last month thatAlien 5has been put on hold indefinitely, so the studio andRidley Scottcan focus on making a sequel toPrometheus, now entitledAlien: Covenant. We first heard aboutAlien 5in January, whenNeill Blomkampshared concept art illustrations that featuredSigourney Weaver’s Ripley andMichael Biehn’s Hicks from the 1986 sequelAliens, withMichael Biehnrevealing himself in March that he may come back as Hicks....

Bird Boxis a big hit for Netflix, becoming a phenomenon over the holiday break. The movie was viewed 26 million times in the U.S. during its first week alone, numbers backed up by Nielsen. The one thing this thriller was missing was its monster. EvenJawseventually showed Bruce the Shark. Instead, fans had to be regaled by Sandra Bullock’s description of the creature, which has become quite legendary in its own right....

There is nothing quite like watching a well-made action movie. The high speed, gunfights, and everything in between creates an adventure that can’t be duplicated in any other genre. Action may appear to be a simple genre to make, but it’s actually extremely challenging (and usually very expensive and time-consuming) to createa great action sequence, let alone a whole action movie. There is a lot to take into consideration: compelling and emotional stakes,combined with careful fight choreographyand editing, a lot of training, the use of stunt coordinators and actors, expensive insurance policies, meticulous sound effects, and much more....

During theLuciferComic-Con panel, where it was announced thatTom Wellinghas joined the Season 3 cast, Fox also debuted a brand new sizzle reel with the first footage from the upcoming season. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see Tom Welling’s character, Marcus Pierce, in this footage, but his character is described as an accomplished police lieutenant who is quite the opposite ofLucifer, since he’s strategic, reserved and well-respected, although they are also charismatic, charming and handsome....

Next week, Sony Pictures will unveil its new sci-fi thrillerLife, which features an all-star cast includingRyan Reynolds(who reunites withDeadpoolwritersRhett ReeseandPaul Wernickon this film),Jake GyllenhaalandRebecca Ferguson. Last week, the studio released a new TV trailer, which featured one shot in particular that looked quite familiar to an eagle-eyed fan. As it turns out, this brief shot was seemingly recycled footage from Sony’s 2007 superhero sequelSpider-Man 3! Say what? AReddituser named “toomuchsoull” spotted this shot, which comes at the 26-second mark of the Sony Pictures Canada TV spot below....

We know she is very strong with the force, and that seems to at least narrow it down a bit, but we may finally have an answer, or at least a big clue as to the lineage ofDaisy Ridley’s character....

Much like the comic book run that inspired the show, Marvel’sWhat If…?has offered a fascinating look at how the MCU timeline could have branched out in multiple directions. Creating a series like this can really help the world feel more alive, giving an introspective look at some of the protagonists to show how the events of the MCU have shaped their characters. As well as allowing some much-needed time to flesh out characters who’ve been relegated to supporting roles thus far but who still may have a significant role to play in the series' future....

Since the beginning ofKevin Smith’s View Askewniverse, his film universe named after his production company View Askew, there have been a few staples that fans always look out for. Specifically, two characters that appear in every single film, stoners Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith). As Jay and Silent Bob are the characters that tie the Askewniverse together more than any others, it is only fitting that their appearances in each film are often the most memorable moments of each film....

A batch of nine new revealing character posters forFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwaldhas magically appeared online. The posters come just ahead of tomorrow’s new trailer, which will be the final trailer ahead of the movie’s release later this year. For now, we have a poster for each main character in the movie to take a look at, each of which carries with it a distinguishing piece of information that reveals just a bit about where everyone is going to be at as the events of this wizarding world adventure get underway....

Sean Gunn believes theGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3script might get a touch up before production begins. This is a common occurrence in the entertainment industry and James Gunn may have some better ideas after seeing the final cut ofAvengers: Endgameon the big screen. His version of the script has been complete for over a year, so it would make sense he would want to go back and do some revisions to make things a bit tighter or to add some new jokes or references....
