Stephen King decided that he didn’t need to cash his check for the story rights toThe Shawshank Redemption. The movie is based off of King’s novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, which was included in 1982’s Different Seasons. The story rights were purchased by director Frank Darabont in 1987, but he did not adapt it into a feature-length movie until 1994. Darabont wrote the script in an 8 week period and the movie was greenlit 2 weeks after he submitted the final script....

ViaVariety, we’ve learned that Tomorrow Studios is coming out with many new shows, one of which is from actressJulia Garner. Garner and her producing partner Rowan Riley sealed a first-look deal with Tomorrow Studios, an ITV partnership, earlier this year. Under this deal, Garner and Riley would develop a scripted series via their Alma Margo production company for Tomorrow. “Above all else, Alma Margo is looking for bold and original content, so we thought it only natural to partner with a studio that also fits that description,” said Garner and Riley....

Money Monsteris a lean thriller that delivers its message via sledgehammer satire. It points a damning finger at the financial tycoons and media apparatus that enable billion dollar swindles. These are easy targets for sure, but DirectorJodie Fosterdeserves credit for crafting a fairly riveting film. The pacing is near real time, so you’re sucked in seconds after the opening credits.Money Monsteris also filled with dark humor that hits perfectly in tense moments....
