Peter Serafinowicz is often utilized as a secret weapon, appearing in some of your favorite movies on the stealth. But he’s becoming more of a presence than every before. And starting this weekend, he actually takes the lead in Amazon’s new superhero seriesThe Tick. We recently caught up with the comedian, who is always a bright shining bit of sunlight wherever he decides to pop up.

It should come as no surprise thatPeter Serafinowicz, who has appeared in such hit movies asSPY,Shaun of the Dead, andGuardians of the Galaxy, just to name a few, is a very busy man. He has two new movies this year,An Ordinary Manalongside Ben Kingsley, andGoing In Style, opposite Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. But starting this Friday, he is fighting evil in a blue jumpsuit and antennas in Amazon’s reimagining of the comic book superhero spoofThe Tick!

The English comedic actor proudly plays the humble, blue avenger. Bursting with scabrous original storylines that turn on a dime, Amazon Prime Video’sThe Tickwill hook anyone in this brooding-superhero-filled world who’s up for a good laugh along the path to truth and justice. And you can stream it right now.

In a world where superheroes have flown among us for decades, an underdog accountant named Arthur (Griffin Newman) with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead (‘The Terror’, played byJackie Earle Haley.) As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, Arthur falls in league with a strange blue superhero: The Tick (Serafinowicz). The title character offers fusillade of non-sequiturs and idealistic pronouncements in between superpower feats andspontaneous wiggles of his antennae. He serves as both the conscience and the unchecked id of the story. Citing the call of destiny, The Tick gives Arthur a super suit with retractable wings and insists that he suit up as his sidekick. He and Arthur are the ultimate odd couple, but may just bring out the best in each other.
