This September we will finally see the return of Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo inGet the Gringodirector Adrian Grunberg’sRambo: Last Blood. And based on the recently released teaser trailer, this new entry looks to be brutal and bloody as hell, which is just how us fans like our Rambo. But that said, and as the title suggests, I’m wondering if this “Last Blood” will really be, you know, the finalRambomovie we see hit the big screen in the franchise? Well, it seems that the answer is a big old, “No.” At least if Stallone has anything to say about it. The actor was recently out and about talking up the newestRambofilm and let us all know that if it works, he’ll just keep going.
Specifically,Sylvester Stallonesaid this about possibly returning to the role of John Rambo inRambo 6: The Final Last Blood For Real This Time.
“Let me just say something about the “last” of anything. I thought Rocky 3 was the last, you know. So I don’t know anything. If it works, I’ll just keep going, you know, because I enjoy it so much.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but this update has this here movie fan grinning ear-to-ear. I mean as long as this newestRambomovie is anywhere near as badass as the most previous Rambo film, fittingly titledRambohere in the States, then I’ll always be down for more bloody beatdowns with the big guy.
Rambo: The Last Bloodsees the lovable Vietnam vet and resident killing machine, John Rambo going full-cowboy andtaking on the Mexican drug cartels. These poor souls made it onto Rambo’s naughty list after they decide it’s a good idea to kidnap the daughter of one of his friends. As Jack Slater would say inLast Action Hero: “Big mistake.” But slaughtering Mexican drug cartels don’t seem like the only thing on the menu for Stallone this time around as, from the looks of the recently released teaser trailer, he goes fullHome Aloneon some men in black at his farmhouse. I wonder how that fits in? However it does, it looks like good times to me.
As mentioned above, Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringowith Mel Gibson) will be helming this newRambomotion picture from a screenplay byPaid in Fullscreenwriter Matthew Cirulnick and Sylvester Stallone. Avi Lerner’s Millennium is behind the film with Kevin King Templeton and Les Weldon producing. Lerner, Trevor Short, and Boaz Davidson are serving as the movie’s executive producers.
Stallone’s costars includePaz Vega as Carmen Delgado, a reporter covering the drug trade in Mexico who aids Rambo after a Mexican cartel kidnaps her younger half-sister. Sergio Peris-Mencheta plays Hugo Martinez, the violent leader of a Mexican cartel, while Adriana Barraza portrays Maria Beltran, who’s described as someone who is “like a sister” to Rambo and has worked on Rambo’s father’s farm all her life. Tag to all that, Yvette Monreal plays Gabrielle, the young girl kidnapped by the Mexican cartel.
Further cast includes Genie Kim, Joaquín Cosío, Sheila Shah, Dimitri Vegas, with Óscar Jaenada as Victor Martinez, and Louis Mandylor as Sheriff.Rambo: The Last Bloodwill shoot, stab, and massacre it’s way into a theater near you via Lionsgate on August 07, 2025.
