Priscilla Presley couldn’t help falling in love with Sofia Coppola’s biographical drama. Arguably best known by the public as the ex-wife of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, Priscilla has made her own way as an actress in Hollywood. An entire generation of fans grew up watching her portray the love interest of the late Leslie Nielsen inThe Naked Guntrilogy. And it would have been easy for Presley to throw shade on Coppola’sPriscilla. But, as it turns out, she enjoyed what ultimately ended up on the big screen. Presley said at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas during a Q&A session (perEntertainment Weekly):
“I was very concerned about this movie. I think it’s right on, to be honest with you. She has such a big heart, and her father [Francis Ford Coppola] is very famous, and she really connected with me. I have no problems with what she did in any way. I love her filmmaking. I think she does a great job. She is for women, and when she approached me about doing a movie about me, I was moved by it. If anyone were to do a movie, it would be for her. I would never support another movie from anyone else doing it."

Priscillais based on the 1985 biographyElvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N' Roll, which was written by Presley and contributor Sandra Harmon. And just last year, director Baz Luhrmann’sElviscreated plenty of Oscar buzz when the Austin Butler-led drama hit theaters. And that movie ended up being nominated for eight Academy Awards. Olivia DeJonge portrayed Priscilla alongside Butler in Luhrmann’s cinematic interpretation of Elvis Presley.

And she couldn’t believe how Jacob’s [Elordi] voice, she said it just sounded just so much like Elvis, so that was so gratifying to hear that from her.”
