Another day, another beloved show getting canceled. This time, the axe has fallen at USA Network, bringing to an end one of thebest science fiction comedyshows currently on the air. Sadly, as is the nature of both television and streaming these days, sudden cancellations have become common place, with fans often left wondering for months at a time whether their favorite show will survive the cull. Well, unfortunately, it’s now time for fans of Alan Tudyk’s underrated sci-fi comedyResident Aliento mourn.

Confirmed via Variety,Resident Alienhas now been canceled after four seasons, with threeepisodes of said fourth season still set to air. While the news is sure to devastate fans, there is some positivity to cling onto, with showrunner Chris Sheridan revealing to TV Insider that they were aware Season 4 would beResident Alien’slast,meaning the show will end, at least in part, on their terms.

“I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season. Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I’m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.”

‘Resident Alien’ Has Been Met With Rave Reviews Throughout Its Run
