Some fans might be concerned for the safety of Kim Wexler after Rhea Seehorn’s latest tease ofBetter Call Saulseason 6. As of now, the cast and crew of theBreaking Badspinoff series are nearing the end of shooting on the show’s sixth and final season. The final season will provide resolution to the story of present-day Jimmy McGill (aka Gene Takavic) while also wrapping up his backstory, which includes his years-long relationship with fellow attorney Kim Wexler.
From the start of the show, Kim has been expertly played by Seehorn. Though she did not appear inthe parent seriesBreaking Bad, she has emerged as a standout character and fan favorite onBetter Call Saul. It does not appear that she’s still around by the timeBreaking Badbegins as she’s not even mentioned by Saul, who kept the details of his personal life private from his criminal cohorts. This has left it unclear what happens with Kim inBetter Call Saul, leading to speculation that she’ll have a nasty falling out with Saul/Jimmy, or even be killed off.

Whatever happens, it probably won’t be pleasant. On Twitter,Rhea Seehornwas asked by a fan to provide just one word to sum up the final season ofBetter Call Saul. The actress did just that by responding with the ominous word, “Devastating.” When a concerned fan noted that they may not be prepared for this, Seehorn shot back, “I wasn’t.”
Read into that what you will, but it doesn’t seem to suggest good news for Kim Wexler moving forward. Fans of the character can still remain optimistic, however, as Seehorn doesn’t specifically say that the “devastating” parts of the story necessarily involve Kim. There are plenty of other main characters to potentially meet heart-wrenching fates, and other ways for fans to have their hearts broken that don’t necessarily need to be death scenes or similar tragedies. If Kim finally breaks away from Jimmy before she gets too far down into cartel territory, as her husband has been doing, that could also be something that’s devastating for Jimmy.
Everything will all come together inthe final season ofBetter Call Saul. We do know the outcome of what happens with several characters, which would be the ones who first appeared onBreaking Bad. That obviously includes Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman along with others like Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). There’s a particular amount of interest in finding out what will happen with Kim Wexler asBreaking Badgives us no clues whatsoever, and it’s totally open as to what might happen to her in the prequel series.
Better Call Sauldoes not have a release date set for the sixth and final season on AMC. Rumor is it will premiere in the spring of 2022. While it’s a bummer to see the acclaimed series coming to an end, possibly bringing us the very last we’ll see of all of these characters, it’s better to followBreaking Badbyending the show on a high noterather than letting it wear out its welcome.
