Last month, newconcept artfromCaptain America: Civil Warrevealed what superheroes will side with Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Unfortunately, the concept art left out a few characters, such as Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). While promoting her new filmI Saw the Light, Elizabeth Olsen reveals there’s a reason why she wasn’t featured on either one of these sides, describing her character as the “wild card.” Here’s what she had to say in an interview withMTV News.

“She’s OK. She’s doing alright. She’s confused, she’s conflicted. She’s found some people she thinks she connects with, but she’s doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn’t there. She’s always the wild card. I like being the wild card.”

Last month, a rumor surfaced that claimedScarlet Witchis somewhat responsible for the event that ignites this Civil War, which divides theMarvel Cinematic Universe. This report was never confirmed, but the inciting incident that kickstarts the Civil War plot involves Captain America (Chris Evans) andScarlet Witch, who team up to apprehendCrossbones(Frank Grillo). This mission is complicated further since Crossbones is wearing a “suicide vest” packed with explosives.

In an attempt to contain the damage, Cap orders Scarlet Witch to use her magical powers to levitate Crossbones above ground, but she cannot contain the massive explosion, which happens near a large, populated building, causing more “death and destruction.” It seems unlikely that these details will be confirmed until the movie hits theaters, butElizabeth Olsendid tease that her powers may evolve in some way. Here’s what she had to say about working withAvengers: Age of Ultronmovement coachJennifer White

“It’s not a new hand technique per say. We’re trying to grow her movement as a whole… Jenny and I have great pride in trying to make this a huge transformation - the next time we see her - of her abilities.”
