Topping off what should have been a triumphant week,Gal Gadot’s Walk of Fame ceremony ended up being just another moment that was marred by the intense reactions to the actress’ previous comments in support of her homeland of Israel in the ongoing war in the country. The event saw skirmishes break out between pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian protesters, which has highlighted one of the reasons Disney was prompted toscale back plans for the premiere ofSnow White. Although Gadot’s event was initially planned to be a celebratory milestone for the Israeli actress, it proved that the unrest surrounding the star has not been claimed recently.
In the weeks leading up to Gadot’s ceremony, Disney’s live-actionSnow Whitehad already made headlines for cutting back its promotional efforts. The studio cut its U.K. premiere entirely and scaled back the Hollywood premiere to a subdued evening that was attended by only a few photographers and specially selected, trusted media.

Best Gal Gadot Movies, Ranked
Gal Gadot has become one of the biggest movie stars in the world, so look at her best movies ranked.
While theSnow Whitepremiere passed without incident, the much more open Walk of Fame presentation saw around two dozen protesters from both sides gathering with banners and placards, and, as seen in a video shared byVariety, they could be heard chanting, “Shame on Gal Gadot.” Although the actress was never in any danger, and was kept at distance from where the disturbance was happening, the two groups eventually clashed, and several were handcuffed but according to LAPD there were no arrests made, and the incident was simply a moment of “crowd control.”

Throughout it all, Gadot continued on with the event, posing alongside her latest accolade, and accepting plaudits fromWonder Womandirector Patty Jenkins and Fast costar Vin Diesel.
Gal Gadot Explained Her Views on the Israel-Gaza War
Although Gal Gadot has not been constantly making comments about the ongoing war, those that she has made have been brought up many times on social media. In a new interview with Variety, Gadot explained that, as an Israeli, she has reasons for her support for her country. She said:
“There is a challenge for people to speak on social media because there is so much hate going on and so many bots and so many angry people that are looking for a cause. After October 7th [2023], I don’t talk politics — because who cares about the celebrity talking about politics? I’m an artist. I want to entertain people. I want to bring hope and be a beacon of light whenever I say anything about the world, but on October 7th, when people were abducted from their homes, from their beds, men, women, children, elderly, Holocaust survivors, were going through the horrors of what happened that day, I could not be silent. I was shocked by the amount of hate, by the amount of how much people think they know when they actually have no idea, and also by how the media is not fair many times. So I had to speak up.”

While in the grand scheme of things, Gadot’s Walk of Fame unveiling and the premiere ofSnow Whiteboth went ahead with limited problems, the fact that there were people willing to turn up to protest is another stark reminder of the conflicts that are dividing people, not only in Hollywood, but around the world. In the current climate, there are very few groups of people who are not caught up in tensions for various reasons.
