Marvel and DC may have some new competition coming their way now that aSpice Girls Animated Superhero Movieis being planned. It was revealed a few weeks ago that the originalSpice Girls, including Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) had gotten together to discuss future business, which may or may not result in a world tour. However, a new report reveals that all 5 of theSpice Girlshave signed off on a new animated superhero movie that is currently being shopped around.

According to sources close to the project, all 5 of the originalSpice Girlshave come to an agreement for the superhero project and have allowed for their likenesses being used. Additionally, all 5 of the women will voice their respective characters in the upcoming superhero movie. Each member of the group will have a power thatcorresponds to their image and personality, which will then find theSpice Girlssuperheroes working together to fight evil, like theJustice League.

The girls are reportedly all “fired up” about the animatedSpice Girlssuperhero movie and what it can mean for their brand all over the world. As far as shopping the project around, the source claimed that, “It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.” Now, that’s debatable, but the Spice Girls are arguably themost successful girl group on the planet. Will we see Posh Spice fighting alongside theBlack Pantherin the future? Probably not, but the Spice Girls will undoubtedly find success with another studio looking to put out an animated superhero film based off of the Girl Power message.

As for theaforementioned Spice Girls world tour, those rumors have been silently starting to fade away after Victoria Beckham denied that they were in talks for a full-scale tour. But, that doesn’t mean that some shows or even new recordings won’t happen in the future. If theSpice Girlsanimated superhero movie gets picked up, the women will more than likely end up in the studio to record some new songs for the soundtrack, which would be huge news for fans. It’s been over 20 years since all 5 of the original group were in the studio together.
