Several new details surroundingSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versehave also now been revealed, with Gwen Stacy attempting to evade her own father in her universe. While the sequel will still put Miles Morales in the spotlight, audiences will get a much better idea of what’s going on in Gwen’s complicated life, as her duty as a superhero threatens to collide with her alter ego. Thus, Gwen finds herself in “the unique dilemma of being Gwen Stacy,” says director Kemp Powers. “She’s a vigilante seen as responsible for the death of her world’s Peter Parker." To make matters worse, “The cop in charge of tracking her down is her father.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Will Hurl Gwen & Miles Into the Multiverse

“After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time,friendly neighborhood Spider-Man [Morales] is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence,” the officialSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versesynopsis reads. “But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson in their feature directorial debuts, and from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versehas amassed to stellar cast to bring this band of Spider-People to life.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewill once again be led by Shameik Moore as Miles Morales aka Spider-Man, with Hailee Steinfeld and Jake Johnson reprising their roles as Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Woman and Peter B. Parker aka Spider-Man, an older, disheveled version of Peter Parker, respectively.The sequel promises to have a much larger role forStar Warsand Marvel actor Oscar Isaac,who returns as Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099, an alternate version of Spider-Man from the future who was introduced during a post-credits scene at the end of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The rest of the supporting cast includes Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Miles’s father; Luna Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales, Miles’s mother; Issa Rae as Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman, a pregnant woman with spider-like powers;Daniel Kaluuya as Hobart “Hobie” Brown aka Spider-Punk, a mohawk-sporting version of Spider-Man; and Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, the villain of the piece who possesses the ability to travel between dimensions.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseis scheduled to be released on July 19, 2025, with another sequel,Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, set to be released on June 12, 2025.
