Severancestar Tramell Tillman is stepping down from the severed floor, at least temporarily, to pursue a new role in Sony and Marvel’sSpider-Man: Brand New Day.The casting announcement has been met with celebration (maybe even a Music Dance Experience) from fans of the hit Apple TV+ series, as he is one of the show’s fan-favorite characters. Those less familiar with the Lumon lot might recognize him fromMission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,in which he starred in a memorable role as Captain Bledsoe opposite Tom Cruise.
As reported byVariety, Tillman has joined the cast ofSpider-Man: Brand New Dayin an undisclosed role. He is the latest addition to a star-studded ensemble that includes Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya’s M.J. Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan/The Scorpion, plus Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in unknown roles. A major MCU hero is alsorumored to be in the mix, but Sony and Marvel are yet to confirm it.

Filming forSpider-Man: Brand New Dayis currently underway in Glasgow, Scotland, which has been transformed to resemble New York City. As the next MCU feature film followingThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsand the final one leading intoAvengers: Doomsday, all eyes are on the highly anticipatedSpider-Mansequel. Set photos have teasedthe arrival of an iconic foefrom the web-slinger’s rogues gallery, but there might be more than one villain wreaking havoc in the Big Apple, as Marvel fans think Tillman is playing a primary antagonist.
Tramell Tillman’s Mystery ‘Spider-Man’ Role Sparks Speculation
While several key roles have been announced forSpider-Man: Brand New Day,some characters are being kept under wraps. Tillman’s casting is one that is shrouded in secrecy, prompting speculation from fans about the actor’s next big-screen outing. People seem to largely be in agreement that Tillman could be about to reintroduce one ofSpider-Man’s most prominent villains: Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin. The actor was immediately linked to the role, with social media users expressing excitement over the character’s potential return.
Willem Dafoe famously portrayed the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’sSpider-Mantrilogy and reprised the role forSpider-Man: No Way Home, while Colman Domingo voiced Osborn in the Disney+ animated seriesYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Domingo had hoped to eventually bring his version of the characterto a live-action MCU movie, but he may have been pipped to the post. Tillman’s past roles have certainly prepared him for a villainous turn;Severance’s Milchick might appear calm on the surface, but he has a chilling inner menace that is just waiting to tell people to “devour feculence,” whileMission: Impossible’s Bledsoe is a charismatic, yet stern, submarine commander, who exudes confidence and strength in high-stakes situations. Osborn is a complex character with a brilliant intellect but a ruthless and arrogant edge, so it would be interesting to see what Tillman would bring to the role.
