A pair of clueless boys get some much needed wisdom over the summer with the first trailer, poster and photos forStaten Island Summer, courtesy ofYahoo! Movies. The upcoming comedy, which debuts onNetflixJuly 31, features a slew of both current and formerSaturday Night Livestars, such asFred Armisen, Bobby Moynihan,Will Forte,Cecily StrongandKate McKinnon, although they merely have cameo roles. The script was written bySNL’sWeekend Updateco-host Colin Jost, withLorne Michaelsserving as executive producer.
The story centers on two boys played by Graham Phillips and Zack Pearlman, best friends and recent high school graduates who get jobs as lifeguards during the summer as they try to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives. The plot is inspired by Colin Jost’s own personal experiences. Netflix picked up thecomedy movielast month.
The supporting cast is rounded out byAshley Greene, Kate Walsh,Jackson Nicoll,Jim GaffiganandMethod Man. This new movie will debut just a few weeks after the debut of Netflix’s comedy TV series,Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which arrives on July 17.
