A few weeks ago, Netflix finally made it official and announced that their hit seriesStranger Thingswill return for Season 2, arriving inSummer 2017. It seems that production may have already started, with new photos that have surfaced from the building that stands in for the Hawkins Labs facility on the show, revealing several production vehicles are already on site. We don’t know for sure if principal photography has started yet, but if it hasn’t, it may start very soon.

The photos surfaced onRedditfrom a user named “hollygorock,” who stated in a post last week that they just realized they live two miles from the Hawkins lab building. According to IMDB, a building at the Emory University, Briarcliff Campus is used for the exterior shots of the Hawkins Labs, where these production vehicles were recently spotted. The interiors for Hawkins Labs and several other sets were shot at EUE/Screen Gems Studios Atlanta. No cast members were seen at these locations quite yet forStranger Things Season 2.

Last month, series creators the Duffer Brothers revealed that this new season, which will span nine episodes, will be set in the year 1984, one year after the events of the first season.Winona Ryder,David Harbour,Finn Wolfhard,Gaten Matarazzo,Caleb McLaughlin,Natalia DyerandCharlie Heatonare set to return. However,it was not confirmed whether or notMillie Bobby Brown(Eleven) andMatthew Modine(Papa) are coming back, since their fate was unclear at the end of Season 1.

It was recently confirmed that there will bethree new charactersintroduced inStranger ThingsSeason 2. The first character ties into the Season 2 premiere title, “Mad Max,” except Max is actually a girl. The character is said to be between 12 and 14 years old, who uses a skateboard instead of a bike, and she is described as “tough and confident.” The other characters are Billy, Max’s “muscular and hyper-confident” older brother who drives a Camaro, and Roman, a gender-neutral character who seeks revenge after a tragic loss early in life.
