Earlier this month, Warner Bros. released a brief trailer for theextended cutof their second DCEU adventure,Suicide Squad, which will debut on Digital HD in just a few short weeks on November 15, before arriving on Blu-ray and DVD December 13. Today we have a second, longer trailer for this extended cut, offering brand new footage ofJared Leto’s The Joker and the rest of Task Force X. This trailer also gives us a glimpse at Katana (Karen Fukuhara) taking off her mask, and a scene whereMargot Robbie’s Harleen Quinzel holds a gun to The Joker’s head, before she was truly transformed into Harley Quinn.
This scene with Harley Quinn and The Joker, which debuted onAmazon, may have been part of a scene that we saw in set photos, where Harley Quinn andThe Jokerare seen fighting in the street. We see Harley pull a gun on The Joker, who dares Harley to shoot him before taking the gun from her hands. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of this new footage over the next few weeks ahead of the Digital HD release.
Last week, we showed you the back side of theSuicide SquadBlu-ray cover, which confirmed there will be 11 minutes of new footage in the extended cut. No new scenes have been released for this extended cut yet, but a video debuted in August detailing a number of thedeleted scenesthat were hinted at in in trailers and other footage that wasn’t seen in the theatrical cut. An earlier report revealed that there will be 13 minutes of previously-unseen footage, but now it seems fans will only be getting 11 minutes.
The Blu-ray features kick-off with a preview entitledTask Force X: One Team, One Mission, where fans can discover the rich legacy of DC’s most infamous bad guys. There is also Squad Strength and Skills, which offers the “inside story” of how the cast got into shape for this movie, Joker and Harley: The ‘It’ Couple of the Underworld, which showcases The Joker and Harley Quinn’s relationship, Chasing the Real, where writer/director David Ayer reveals techniques for creating an authentic surreal world, along with a Gag Reel.
