AlthoughTeen Wolf: The Moviesucceeded in getting nearly every significant character back to Beacon Hills, not everyone could make the reunion. However, their absences are very noticeable in the revival. While Stiles and Kira should have been present in the movie, especially considering the Nogitsune returned as a major villain, they were not the only ones whose presence was missed or who should have appeared. In addition, while some characters' lives were explained after they left the show initially, such as Jackson and Ethan living in London, others were never given such closure.

Isaac and Danny, two fan favorites, disappeared entirely from Beacon Hills after season three. Although Isaachad left after Allison’s death, with her resurrection playing a significant role in the movie, and Isaac being Allison’s boyfriend at the time of her death, it would have made more sense for him to be present, or at least mentioned. Also, considering Danny revealed he knew there were werewolves in Beacon Hills and then disappeared forever, perhaps seeing him would have brought closure to his initial absence from the story.

When it comes toTeen Wolf, sometimes characters have a more significant habit of disappearing entirely from the plot rather than addressing their absence after they have been written out of the show. Such was the case with Isaac, who seemed to leave Beacon Hills behind as he grieved Allison’s death. However, there werenever mentions of Isaac’s whereaboutsor updates on how he had been doing. Instead, Isaac disappeared into thin air to never be mentioned again, as if he was not one of Derek’s Betas or an essential friend to Scott.

Bringing Isaac back for the film would have at least brought out answers for his character, such as if he found another pack after leaving Beacon Hills or if he remained in touch with anyone off-screen for all these years. At the very least, it would have brought closure to a fan-favorite character.

Teen Wolf Danny

Danny was always a supporting character, playing a background role on the lacrosse team or in class. However, while his part was not huge, he made an impact on fans. However, he disappeared after season three, leaving behind a massive truth bomb revealing he knew all about the supernatural in Beacon Hills. While it is not clear if he knew who precisely was a werewolf, it was certainly an interesting thing to say just before he vanished from the show. Bringing Danny back for the film would have delivered answers about who he became as an adult and if he ever became directly involved with the town’s supernatural events.

The last anyone saw Kira; she was following through on her deal to train with the Skinwalkers. But that was at the end of season five, and no one had supposedly heard from or seen her since. So, what happened to Kira? Is she still learning how to gain control of her Kitsune powers? Has she already gained control and left Beacon Hills behind for good? Unfortunately, Kira’s character does not receive much closure from the show, as she does not return in the final season, even in a guest-starring role. Kira’s return inTeen Wolf: The Moviewould have been a massive payoff. But, it also would have curbed the issues that arose from introducing Hikari.

Teen Wolf Kira

Hikari seems like a likable enough character with an unlabeled relationship with Liam. Still, her involvement in the film has been connected too much to being a replacement for Kira. While Kira had years of background on the show, Hikari does not get nearly enough development and instead seems to check a box to have a Kitsune involved to balance the Nogitsune’s return. Kira is not even mentioned inTeen Wolf: The Movie, even though theNogitsune is directly tied to her family historythrough her mother.

Although Theodoes not get a proper redemption arcin the final episodes ofTeen Wolf, he can take the pain away in the series finale, which is meant to be a sign of his growing empathy for others. In addition, Theo’s untraditional friendship with Liam was an exciting addition to the show, as even when Theo did not want to stick around due to his thoughts of self-preservation, Theo never had it in him to leave Liam behind, even though they were not best friends. Bringing Theo back for the movie on the side of good would have allowed the audience and other characters to see Theo’s growing capacity to understand he could have been a better person. Instead, it is never clear what became of Theo other than Scott labeling him as an unexpected ally.

Although Ethan gets a reference in a way that suggests his relationship with Jackson is still going strong, he is not present in the movie even though Jackson returns. Jackson had promised Ethan that he would never return to Beacon Hills, so when Jackson comes anyway, it is not clear where Ethan believes Jackson is. However, Ethan may have been an essential player inTeen Wolf: The Movie, considering the Nogitsune and the Oni had also been responsible for killing Aiden.

Teen Wolf Theo

Corey was Mason’s boyfriend in high school and a chimera able to turn invisible. He had been involved in the supernatural problems that followed Beacon Hills before, but there is no mention of him. Had Mason and Corey broken up somewhere between high school and adulthood? Does Corey still live in Beacon Hills? While Corey did not have the most significant role in the series overall, he would have been another familiar face with an understanding of the crazy supernatural world.

4Eli’s Mother

Although she may not have needed to physically appear, as much as a name-drop or photograph may have been enough to explain who Derek ended up having a child with. The mystery of Eli’s mother is never addressed. Although Derek and Eli never mention her at all, to the point where she may as well not exist, it still would have been nice to know a little more about how she fits into Derek’s life before Derek became a single parent.

Teen Wolfhad previously addressed missing or absent parents, such as Scott’s parents being divorced and his father leaving, Stiles' mother having died years earlier, or Lydia’s parents' divorce. So, why couldTeen Wolf: The Movienot spare a single line of dialogue referencing Eli’s mother?

Teen Wolf Ethan and Jackson

Considering she was the human Big Bad at the end of the series finale, it would have made sense to see her again. But had she continued her fight against werewolves and the supernatural years later? Had she given up the fight after never catching Scott or his friends? It is never clear what ended up happening to Monroe. Her being the final plot-twist villain in the movie would have been an exciting way to bring the character back into the fold and acknowledge her history with the McCall Pack. She had been briefly trained by Gerard, who had instilled a dangerous mentality in her. It did not seem realistic that she would give up so easily, even if she had been defeated in Beacon Hills.

Alec only appears inTeen Wolf’sseries finale as a way to show Monroe’s growing war against werewolves and the supernatural. Alec is meant to be similar to Scott, a teenager getting involved in something far more significant than himself, but this time with far more dangerous stakes. When Scott offers Alec a place with his pack, Alec appears willing to take it and stand beside Scott and the rest of the McCall Pack. So, where is he now? Not only does Alec never appear, but there are no mentions of him.

Even thoughTeen Wolf: The Movietold its story without Stiles, that does not mean he should not have been there. If anything, the movie proves how much he was needed considering the explanation for his lack of involvement was not enough to justify the character’s absence to fans. Stiles had been directly connected to the Nogitsune, having spent half a season possessed by it. It makes no sense that the loyal Stiles would not be present for Scott, Lydia, and Malia if he knew he was needed. Although Stilinski mentions Stiles still works for the FBI, and Lydia references the end of their relationship due to a dream or premonition, it still is not enough to entirely wipe away Stiles' impact and how connected he would have been to the Nogitsune’s return.
