Linda Hamiltonis almost as synonymous with theTerminatorfranchise as its titular mechanical assassin-turned-ally, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, after three times out in the world of time-traveling robots and machines ruling the world, Sarah Connor will probably not be returning to screens again – at least not with Hamilton in the role.
Hamilton originally portrayed Sarah Connor in James Cameron’s 1984 filmThe Terminator, and reprised her role again in the masterpiece sequel,Terminator 2: Judgment Day. While the actress then ducked out of the franchise, making way for Lena Headey to take over the role in TVseries The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and anotherGame of Thronesalum, Emilia Clarke stepping into the role forTerminator: Genisys, she made an unexpectedreturn to the role for 2019sTerminator: Dark Fate.

Terminator: Dark Fate
Despite that appearance, and constant rumors of newTerminatormovies being considered, Hamilton has expressed a clear disinterest in returning to the franchise for another movie, and seems to believe that the franchise should be allowed to rest now. Speaking toBusiness Insider, she said:
I’m done. I’m done. I have nothing more to say. The story’s been told, and it’s been done to death. Why anybody would relaunch it is a mystery to me. But I know our Hollywood world is built on relaunches right now.

Sarah Connor is Not an Icon to Linda Hamilton
For many sci-fi fans, Linda Hamiton’s Sarah Connor stands up alongside the likes of Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley as one of the most iconic characters of the genre, regardless of gender. However, Hamilton doesn’t see it that way herself, and is quick to deflect any suggestions of her character’s “icon” status. She continued:
“I truly feel like, and felt like, Sarah Connor is not an icon. She’s a woman in hell. She makes some really bad choices. She’s not a good mother, she’s a good fighter! So you sort of try to parse the details out and go ‘Well, they respect her strength and her power, and I did create a warrior, but she’s very imperfect. She’s an imperfect person.'”

Here’s What Makes T2: Judgment Day The Best Terminator Movie
The mind-blowing sequel to James Cameron’s sci-fi action stunner trumps all installments thus far. Here’s a closer look at the 1991 hit film.
When it comes to any comparisons between Hamilton and her on-screen future-saving character, the actress insists that there are very few similarities to be found, regardless of what some fans believe. Addressing how it took some time to accept the way fans look at her, Hamilton said:

“So it was hard to sort of come to terms with all that and then just go, ‘Okay, I can accept it,’ because I’ve heard it now for so many years, people actually treat me like I saved the future. If you could see how utterly hapless I am during my life and my daily life! But it’s pretty cute, and I have no complaints, it’s delightful.”
Currently, a newanime series based on theTerminatorfranchiseis coming to Netflix soon, and James Cameron has recently hinted that discussions about the next movie installment are ongoing. It seems that just like Arnie’s most famous line promised by the franchise way back in 1984, it will be back.
