Josh Brolinis on the verge of having another hit movie on his hands. While making the rounds doing the press tour forDune: Part Two, the actor discusses his most iconic roles, which includes the Infinity Gauntlet wielding Thanos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And Brolin recalls his favorite memory from shootingAvengers: Endgame. And as it turns out, it’s Thanos’ first death scene, which comes at the hands of Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who chops off the Titan’s head! Brolin said in an exclusive interview withGQ:

“When I was finally in a scene with people who I knew… [Mark] Ruffalo I knew, Don Cheadle I knew. So, we had a scene that we did together. And I’m on the ground, and the cameras are on me. They’re off camera, and I looked at Ruffalo — and I forgot my line. And I go, ‘What’s my line?’ Like he would know. It’s a different character [laughs]. It’s a different actor. And he looked at me. And he goes, ‘I don’t know.’"

Avengers: Endgame

Brolin continued:

“And I go, ‘You have to know what it is. What is it? What is it?’ And I knew it was coming. And like Chris [Hemsworth] is off there saying something. I don’t know what he’s saying… picking up this big thing [motions like he’s wielding Stormbreaker]. And I go, ‘What’s the line?’ And he [Ruffalo] actually gave me the line. And I remember, I thought that was so funny. I was like, ‘How the f— did you remember the line?’ Ruffalo is the nicest human being in the world, and the most giving human being. That’s my favorite memory of doing that movie.”

Gurney Halleck’s Return

Heads — Thanos’ head anyway — literally rolled in Josh Brolin’s favorite scene fromAvengers: Endgame. But now, the actor is concentrating on the return ofhis character, Gurney Halleck, inDune: Part Two. And while it may or may not be his favorite scene in director Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi sequel, Brolin remembers the anticipation he felt shooting one sequence in particular for the film. Brolin said in an exclusive interview withCollider:

“The sword fight, because we wanted to do it in one [take]. Denis wanted to do it in one, and I’m 55. And doing that when you’re 25, your recovery is quick, but doing that when you’re 55? I thought I was 25 in my head, and then I started rehearsing it and I realized that it was gonna be a longer process. But in my panic, I pulled it off. I think we were more than ready when we finally did it. We did it in one shot even though there were three different angles, and I’m proud of that scene. Terrified.”

“The hotel that we were staying in, we were surrounded by 100 kilometers of nothing but sand. There was no village, there was no place you could drive to. In two-and-a-half hours, you could get to Abu Dhabi. I love that he created that kind of practicality because I do think it lends to the movie. I think it lends to the kind of gruffness of what I was doing in it at least. I love it, personally. But yeah, it felt like you were on Arrakis.”

Dune: Part Twoopens in theaters on March 1.
