To celebrate the upcoming release of the HBO seriesThe Penguin, Matt Reeves’The Batmanis punching its way back into theaters. Unlike past iterations, which turned the Caped Crusader into a gadget-wielding bruiser, Reeves leaned into the vigilante’s detective roots — after all, the publishers are Detective Comics. As well as introducing the world to Robert Pattinson’s brooding version of Batman/Bruce Wayne and Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman,The Batmanalso gave audiences anunrecognizable Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot will soon be the star of his own spinoff series, set after the events ofThe Batman. To recap what happened before the events of the series, and to let fans watch that awesome Batmobile chase on the big screen one more time,The Batmanis coming back to theaters. However, it won’t be venturing out alone, as the new screenings come with exclusive footage fromThe Penguin. Announced by Warner Bros. Pictures onX,The Batmanwill return to AMC Theaters for one day only on Wednesday, August 28. The announcement didn’t reveal how much ofThe Penguinwould be shown during the screenings.

However, rumors have been circulating that Clayface could be throwing down with Batman in the new movie. Many members of Batman’s rogue’s gallery have already appeared on the big screen with the Caped Crusader, and some fans hope to see a new antagonist in the future. Because of this, some are calling for Matt Reeves toinclude the Court of Owls in the sequel.First appearing in 2012, the Court of Owls are a relatively new threat in DC Comics. Led by the wealthy elite of Gotham City, the Owls are a powerful underground syndicate — not dissimilar to the Illuminati — and would make for a worthy adversary for Robert Pattinson’s younger iteration of Batman.
