A set video from the series finale ofThe Walking Deadgives us a sneak peek at a final ride fromNorman Reedusas Daryl Dixon… at least on this series. While there are plans for Reedus to continue the fan favorite character’s story in a spinoff series, it still feels like the end of an era in many ways withThe Walking Deadcoming to an end. Officially, the show is concluding after eleven seasons after first premiering on AMC back in 2010.

On the set, director of photography Duane Manwiller recently shared a brief video clip of Reedus zooming by on Daryl’s motorcycle. Manwiller confirms in the post that the scene is from Reedus' final time filming a scene on the bike in character as Daryl for The Walking Dead. The cinematographer also thanks Reedus for the “wild ride” they’d spent together for more than a decade. You can check out the post below.

“That’s a wrap,” Reedus himself had also said ofthe show concluding. “11 seasons 12 years. Never been so beat up and it was an absolute blast. Thank you to all of you that took this ride with us and what a ride it was.”

In another post about the show ending from executive producer Greg Nicotero, Reedus added, “Thank you for everything, it’s been a real joy. I think my brain is short circuiting now, I can’t even get my head around it.”

This Doesn’t Mean We Have Seen the Last of Daryl Dixon

The Walking Deadas we know it will end after its season 11 finale, but the franchise is far from finished. Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will team back up for a spinoff series focusing on Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier in new adventures beyond what’s seen in the finale of the parent series. Reedus has teased that the spinoff will have a completely different feel to it so it won’t be quite the same as new episodes ofThe Walking Dead.

“I can’t tell you a whole lot about the spin-off. I can tell you that it won’t look anything likeThe Walking Dead. It won’t look like an episode ofWalking Deadwith just Daryl and Carol. It’ll be completely different,” Reedus previously told IMDb about the upcoming show.

There will be other spinoffs to keep this franchise going. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will also be leading their own spinoff dubbedIsle of the Dead. The spinoff showFear the Walking Deadis also still going strong with franchise star Kim Dickens soon to return. There are other planned spinoffs on the way as well, such as the anthology seriesTales of the Walking Dead, which will present different standalone stories with each episode. Needless to say that the franchise will still be going along for some time to come, even if new episodes ofThe Walking Deadwill no longer be made.
