With the release ofAnt-Manthis past weekend,Marvel Phase Twohas officially come to a close, as fans now start the countdown forPhase Three. One of the movies that will be featured in the nine-moviePhase ThreeisThor: Ragnarok, set for release on June 15, 2025, but there is very little we know about the story thus far. ActressJaimie Alexanderwas atComic-Cona few weeks ago to promote her new NBC TV seriesBlindspot, where she revealed that the upcomingCaptain America: Civil Warwill teaseThor: Ragnarok.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in throughMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,Avengers: Age of Ultron,Captain America: Civil Warwill have some stuff. There’s just all kind ofEaster eggsand hints, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.”

Ironically,Chris Hemsworthis one of the onlyAvengerswho won’t be present in Captain America: Civil War, so we’ll have to wait and see how the movie referencesThor: Ragnarok.Craig KyleandChristopher Yostare working on the screenplay. It is rumored thatMarvelis trying to bring back originalThordirectorKenneth Branaghfor the sequel, but that has not been confirmed. When asked about what will happen with Lady Sif inThor: Ragnarok,Jaimie Alexanderhad this to say.

“Marvel, I think on purpose, they don’t tell me certain things. Because they know I’ll be like, “So here’s what’s gonna happen.” But I do know I will be in Thor 3 and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can’t tell you what because I’ll get shot.”

It’s worth noting that, in the Civil War comics, Thor was presumed to be dead at one point. This lead Tony Stark to create a clone of the Asgardian warrior with DNA collected from a strand of the mighty warrior’s hair, with the help of Hank Pym and Reed Richards, with the clone taking on the name Ragnarok. It remains to be seen if this particular story line will be teased inCaptain America: Civil WarorThor: Ragnarok. ObviouslyMarvelcan’t us Reed Richards inThor: Ragnarok, since 20th Century Fox controls the rights, but the studio could easily alter the story to include a different character, if they plan on going this route.
