Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw) and their young daughter Leila (Ivy George), who move into a house and discover a video camera and a box of tapes in the garage. Every time they look through the lens of the camera, they see paranormal activity all around them, along with the reappearance of siblings Kristi and Katie.Katie Featherstonwill return as Katie, the only character to appear in each film. This sequel will also present footage shown through the camera in 3D.

The beloved franchise started with directorOren Peli’s low-budget 2009 thrillerParanormal Activity, which cost just $15,000 to make and took in $193 million worldwide. The blockbuster was followed byParanormal Activity 2(2010),Paranormal Activity 3(2011),Paranormal Activity 4(2012) and the spinoffParanormal Activity: The Marked Ones(2014).Jason Blumrevealed thatParanormal Activity 5will answer questions that fans have been clamoring for, such as the family’s backstory and whatTobylooks like.

Gregory Plotkinmakes his directorial debut withParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, but the filmmaker has a long history with the franchise. He served as the editor onParanormal Activity 2,Paranormal Activity 3,Paranormal Activity 4andParanormal Activity: The Marked Ones, serving as co-producer on the last three films as well. He also co-producedOren Peli’s long-awaited directorial follow-upArea 51, which debuted earlier this year.
