Like so many works of historical, life-changing art before it, theDonald Trumpmugshot has now been unveiled. And nothing will ever be the same again. The already infamous photo of the 45th President of the United States was taken the Fulton County Jail (where Trump was given the booking number 2313827) and social media has quickly transformed the deceptively simple image into something beyond human comprehension. Oh, as well as combining it with various movies and other pop culture.
Several cinema aficionados have made the comparison between the look Trump has gone for in his mugshot and ‘The Kubrick Stare,’ a techniqueapplied by acclaimed director Stanley Kubrickfor shots in which a character looks at the viewer with their head tilted downward and their eyes peering upward from beneath the eyebrows. Often in a deeply sinister manner.

The ‘Trump mugshot’ was taken in relation to the criminal prosecution of the former President and several others, including Rudy Giuliani, on charges of racketeering and related charges in Georgia. Aside from comparisons to the works of Stanley Kubrick, Trump’s mugshot has also been compared to the likes of Ben Stiller’s patented ‘Blue Steel’ look from the movieZoolander, with others adding him to The Sticky Bandits crew.
Others though cannot see past the likeness shared between Donald Trump andGhostbusters 2villain, Vigo the Carpathian (played in the movie by Wilhelm von Homburg), a sadistic, power-hungry tyrant. We’ll let you judge where the comparisons start and end…
