Ben Affleckmade a rare appearance on his Twitter account a couple of days ago in order to post some footage from the set ofJustice League, which featured the villainous assassin Deathstroke. We didn’t get to see who was behind the mask, but rumors have been flying around, stating thatTrue BloodandMagic MikestarJoe Manganiellowill be playing the character. Now, thanks to Melbourne artist BossLogic, we have an idea what he may look like as Deathstroke.
BossLogic took to hisTwitteraccount to show off some new fan art. It depictsManganielloasSlade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. The footage thatAffleckposted featured an excellent look at the costume, so BossLogic had a lot to work with in that respect, but Deathstroke kept his mask on in the footage. Fortunately, BossLogic did a couple of pieces that show what he would look like with his mask off, should it come to pass thatManganiellowinds up playing him.
Granted, Deathstroke doesn’t often take off his mask, but this art shows just how wellManganiellowould fit the role. The forward facing image that BossLogic did looks like it was ripped right from the page of a comic book. AllManganiellowould have to do is grey up his hair a little bit, and grow out perhaps a bit more facial hair, though he did recently grow out a goatee, which has helped fuel thespeculation.
Deathstroke has long been rumored to be appearing in a DC Extended Universe movie, and many expected the character to show up inDavid Ayer’sSuicide Squad, which ultimately didn’t come to pass.Manganiellowas rumored to be attached to the role for quite some time as well, and now there is evidence to support the idea that he was the man in the suit on the set ofJustice League. He is currently filming an unnamed project in London, whereJustice Leaguehappens to be filming. Plus, he recently followed bothZack SnyderandDavid Ayeron Twitter.
We have also learned that, yes,Affleckposted theDeathstrokefootage as aJustice Leaguetease of sorts. But more importantly, he is reportedly going to be the main villain of theBatman Rebootmovie. So it looks like whoever is under that Deathstroke mask is going to be quite busy, and will have the honor of squaring off with Batfleck in the highly-anticipatedBatmanreboot, which is going to be directed byBen Affleck. Is itJoe Manganiello? The evidence is there to support the idea, and if social media is to be believed, there is an awful lot of fan support for the casting choice.
