Spoiler Warning: The Umbrella Academy Season 3

In a show likeThe Umbrella Academy, which features plot lines that often involve apocalyptic events and time travel chaos, it would be easy for characters to fall to the wayside and become mere pawns to the overall story. Fortunately, that is not the case with the Netflix series. The show boasts a wide assortment of disparate characters, each portrayed by an incredible actor.

The members of the titularUmbrella Academy are all the adopted childrenof Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore), who purchased the children from their mothers, all of whom became pregnant under mysterious circumstances when they were newborn infants. The callous Sir Reginald Hargreeves assigned his children numerical names based on their value to the Umbrella Academy as members of its super-powered squad. However, as more information is revealed about the characters, said rankings have become somewhat less accurate.

Klaus

For example, the team member who was assigned Number One, Luther Hargreeves (Tom Hopper), whose ability is super strength, may have been one of the most powerful Hargreeves at the beginning of the series. However, he has since been surpassed by several of his siblings.

Here are the most powerful Hargreeves siblings as ofThe Umbrella Academyseason three.

Klaus Hargreeves, a Seemingly Immortal Spiritual Savant

SinceThe Umbrella Academyseason one was released, Klaus Hargreeves (Robert Sheehan) has been a fan favorite character. In the series' first season, he struggles with addiction, and his constant substance abuse rends him unable to use his powers, which at the time primarily entailed the ability to communicate with the dead. In the second season, Klaus started a cult, spurned by the loss of his lover on the jungle battlefields of Vietnam.

However, it was not until season three that Klaus Hargreeves became one of the most powerful members of the Hargreeves family. It is revealed that Klaus' connection to the great beyond goes beyond simply being able to channel spirits. Klaus is seemingly immortal. Through flashbacks, we see that he has never been able to die. He hones this power with the help of his father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, by being run over on a busy highway countless times.

By the end of season three,Klaus can resurrect himselfalmost immediately. It goes without saying that the ability to come back from the dead places Klaus firmly among the ranks of the most powerful Hargreeves children.

Number Five, the Time Traveling Teen

If the only installment ofThe Umbrella Academyseries currently available to audiences was season one, the most powerful member of the Hargreeves clan wouldundoubtedly be Number Five(Aidan Gallagher). The character is an older gentleman trapped inside the body of his teenage self and has the ability to teleport.

However, that is not the end of his supernatural abilities, as his teleportation is not limited merely to space. Number Five can travel through time, though it is difficult for him to control the power, which has caused the character much consternation throughout the series' first three seasons.

In season three, Number Five largely shies away from using his time travel abilities, instead focusing on teleportation to combat the season’s myriad enemies.

Viktor Hargreeves' Repressed Superpowers Released

Viktor Hargreeves (Elliot Page)has undergone many changes since his introduction in the first season ofThe Umbrella Academy. He was given the name Number 7 by his father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, and believed for most of his life that he was complete without superpowers. However, at the end ofThe Umbrella Academyseason one, it is revealed that Viktor was kept sedated by his father to hide his almost infinite abilities, and his powers bring about the apocalyptic events that characterize season two of the series.

As one character remarks at the beginning ofThe Umbrella Academyseason three, Viktor has nearly brought about the world’s end twice. His superpower skill set is so overpowered that the series has yet to find a way to fully utilize it in battle scenes. At one point in the series, Viktor literally blows up the moon, which obviously places him atop the list of the most powerful Umbrella Academy members.

As of yet,The Umbrella Academyhas not beenrenewed for a season four. However, Netflix audiences have fallen in love with the series' unique cast of characters. Each member of the Hargreeves family continues to evolve, and audiences become privy to hidden sides of their personalities and new facets of their superpowers. Though certain members of the Hargreeves clan have begun to stand out as the most powerful characters in the series, the entire family needs to work together in order to keep the forces of universal calamity at bay.
