While there could be many unexpected cameos inDeadpool & Wolverine, it seems thatVinnie Joneshas no interest in being one of them. Jones appeared as the often criticized version of Juggernaut inX: Men: The Last Stand, and in a new interview withYahoo UK, the actor explained why he turned down the chance to be in, what he calls, one of his favorite franchises.
Deadpool & Wolverine
A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
Deadpool & Wolverineis set to be a multiverse-spanning return to form for Marvel Studios following their rough 2023 box office results, and Ryan Reynolds will be joined bymany blasts from the pastother than his best buddy Hugh Jackman. Although there have been several cameos already confirmed for the sequel, Jones has made it clear that he will not be making any kind of surprise appearance despite his love ofDeadpool. Jones said:

“Funny enough, I just got asked to do Deadpool, the new one that’s coming out now. I spoke to the director, and I just said, ‘It’s such a drama putting that suit on, mentally and physically.’ It had its mental toll as well, because you’re in it, and you can’t do anything all day. You can only drink from a straw. So, we couldn’t strike a deal for Deadpool, but, I mean, Deadpool is my favorite movie of f*cking all time, more or less. I really wanted to do it, but they didn’t have the budget to put me in the suit.”
Vinnie Jones Explains The Problems With X-Men 3
X-Men: The Last Standturned out to be anything but for the franchise, as it went on to spawn several other sequels before Disney merged with Fox and reclaimed the X-Men for Marvel Studios to use within the MCU. The third movie in the franchise was originally set to be directed by Michael Vaughn, but eventually he was replaced by Brett Ratner, and that waswhere the problems for Jones’ Juggernaut began. He said in the same interview:
“Well, Matthew was the director on that, Matthew Vaughn, and then he bailed on it. He rung me, and he said, ‘Have you signed your contract yet?’ I said, ‘No, why?’ He said, ‘I’m not going to do it. They’re going to bring a new director on.’ So, the new director came on, and it was not the same role as I signed on to do. They diluted the dialogue. It was a bigger role. I’ve actually come out and said that, you know. The director brought in so many other moving parts… and mine was the [only] one that got diluted, the Juggernaut. It didn’t… you know, I lost all interest quite early, because I knew they were just ticking me along, you know what I mean? I was upset. I was very upset, because it was such a [big] movie, such a big stage, and [I] became an extra. That’s what happened.”

The Marvels Star Admits Not Knowing the X-Men Post-Credit Twist
The Marvels' Teyonah Parris was surprised with the X-Men ending twist too.
Although Jones’ version of Juggernaut will seemingly not be putting in an appearance inDeadpool & Wolverine, the version of the character that put on a CGI show inDeadpool 2could possibly feature in the movie, but then again, anything is possible within the multiverse, so who really knows who will show up. All will be revealed in a few months.

Deadpool & Wolverinewill release in cinemas on August 23, 2025. you may check out the teaser forDeadpool & Wolverinebelow.
