The first teaser trailer forX-Men: Apocalypsedebuted at SDCC 2015 this past summer. And while it leaked shortly thereafter, the footage has never been made public. If we’re to believe the latest statements from directorBryan Singer, we won’t get to see an official trailer until March, which is just two months before the movie makes it’s way into theaters. This is close to what20th Century Foxdid for theFantastic Fourremake, releasing the first teaser very late in the game. According to the filmmaker, the trailer will actually show off some of the end credit sequence fromX-Men: Apocalypse, which is an homage to the entire franchise up until now.
Bryan Singerwas speaking at the San Pedro International Film Festival. And he revealed thatX-Men: Apocalypsehas the longest running time of anymutant adventurethus far. But there is a very good reason for that. As we’ve heard before,X-Men: Apocalypseis going to bringBryan Singer’sX-Menfranchise to an end. It will be the climax in a sixfilm seriesthat kicked off in 2000 with the originalX-Men, and continued in 2003’sX2: X-Men United, 2006’sX-Men: The Last Stand, 2011’sX-Men: First Classand last summer’sX-Men: Days of Future Past. TheThe Wolverinespinoffs are not mentioned by the director. About the trailer and runtime, he had this to say.
“The cut’s a little long right now, but I think it’s going to be a longer X-Men movie. TheX-Men moviesI usually I keep under two hours, but this one I may actually let be a longer movie because it’s sort of a wrap-up of six movies. It’s kind of a wrap up of X-Men 1, 2, 3, First Class, Days of Future Past, and there’s even an homage at the end, a scene. Its going to get spoiled because they decided to use it in the trailer which comes out in like six months, but it’s a really cool trailer. But it’s kind of a wrap up of six movies. So, it might run a little bit long.”
