With production onX-Men: Apocalypsestill going strong in Montreal, directorBryan Singerhas shared yet another photo through hisInstagramaccount, showcasing one of the massive practical sets. The filmmaker is seen being dwarfed by an Egyptian statue. But he wouldn’t offer any details about the set itself or how it fits into theX-Men: Apocalypsestory. He did say on his social media account that, “This takes me back to #raidersofthelostark #notallgreenscreen #xmen #xmenapocalypse.”

This photo comes just a few days afterBryan Singerposted a photo with SirPatrick Stewarton the set, which fueled speculation that he would return in a cameo role as Charles Xavier. The actor wasn’t seen in costume, but he was watching footage with the director and another filmmaker,Jason Reitman, who was putting together a live read ofThe Big Lebowskiat Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. It was never revealed ifPatrick Stewartwill have a cameo appearance, but several months ago,Ian McKellensaid in February that he will be back asMagneto, although that was never confirmed.

X-Men: Apocalypseis set in the year 1983, 10 years after the events of last year’sX-Men: Days of Future Past. The story centers on the villainousApocalypse(Oscar Isaac), as he gathers his Four Horsemen on a mission to destroy the world as we know it. The Horsemen includeAlexandra Shipp’s Storm,Ben Hardy’s Angel,Olivia Munn’s Psylocke andMichael Fassbender’s Magneto, who has been living a life of refuge in Poland for the past decade.

After Xavier (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) learn about Apocalypse’s evil plan, they recruit a group of young mutants to stop him. These characters include younger versions of Cyclops (Tye Sheridan),Jean Grey(Sophie Turner), Jubilee (Lana Condor) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee).Nicholas Hoult,Lucas Till(Havok),Evan Peters(Quicksilver) andRose Byrne(Moira McTaggert) reprise their roles fromX-Men: First ClassandX-Men: Days of Future Past.
