During that time, the show follows their journey of survival, which becomes increasingly desperate and pushes some of the team members to acts like cannibalism. There are also periodic time jumps to 25 years later, to show the lives of those who made it out and how they’ve moved on, or not, from what transpired.

How the WGA Strike is Affecting The Show
Production onYellowjacketsis actively adhering to the Writer’s Guild strike, which commenced two days ago with 11,500 screenwriters across Hollywood’s various unions voting unanimously to stop working immediately and go on strike to demand long overdue wage increases and corrections to many faults in the industry as a whole, like intentionally understaffing and requiring writers in certain instances to work for free. A recent union statement remarked:
“The companies’ behavior has created a gig economy inside a union work force, and their immovable stance in this negotiation has betrayed a commitment to further devaluing the profession of writing.”
Meanwhile, showrunner Ashley Lyle shared a statement on her Twitter regarding the status ofYellowjackets, and their support for the writers fighting for the benefits and working conditions they deserve.
Well, we had exactly one day in the #YellowJackets S3 writers’ room. It was amazing, and creatively invigorating, and so much fun, and I’m very excited to get back to it as soon as the #WGA gets a fair deal."
The first two seasons ofYellowjacketsare currently streaming on Showtime. More details on the production status of the third season will likely follow soon.
