The 2020s have given us exceptional horror films thus far. Here’s a list of the best, according to their Rotten Tomatoes score.

Based on an email received by Bloody Disgusting this morning, we know that the livestream will occur atMaybrookMissing.comat 9AM PT/12PM ET. Fans will note that the website seemingly puts bothBarbarianandWeaponstogether in the same cinematic universe, as it features articles from the fictional town, with one of them being about the “underground prison” discovered in Cregger’s 2022 film. When it comes to the livestream, the footage promises to show us something “that won’t be explained, only experienced.” How’s that for a tease? “You’ve been among the first to follow the signs—and now something is about to shift. On June 23, we invite you to visit MaybrookMissing.com for a one-time-only livestream that won’t be explained, only experienced […] What begins as a cryptic broadcast may become something more. There are rumors of an early glimpse. Of footage. Of something that wasn’t meant to be seen yet. We won’t say much. In fact, we’ll say less. But if you’ve been paying attention, you already know that we will have something special. Be ready. Be curious. And maybe keep the lights on.”

What Is ‘Weapons’ About?

Starring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, and Austin Abrams, to name a few,Weaponsfocuses on a community in turmoil after all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanishes on the same night at exactly the same time. That’s about all we know of the new movie, even after viewing the trailer above – which is the way it should be. Warner Bros. and Cregger are keeping us in suspense, making sure they don’t reveal much beyond a few seriously creepy images that build anticipation for the August release.

That being said, expectations are high for the new horror movie, asBarbarianwas undoubtedly one of the sleeper hits of the year in 2022, grossing $45 million at the box office against a $4 million budget. The chilling and atmospheric film with a wild twist starring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgård, and Justin Long certainly showcased what Cregger could do with little money, delivering a story that was both humorous and – more importantly – actually scary. He certainly has a lot more money to play with forWeapons($38 million to be exact), so it’ll be interesting to see how he manages to put those funds to good use. Most of all, we just can’t wait to find out what the catch is this time around, asBarbarian’s endingadmittedly left us gobsmacked.
